Gavin Tollman is a businessman and key player in the travel and tourism industries. He is currently CEO of global guided tour provider, Trafalgar, and chairman of the South African arm of the highly successful tourism company, The Travel Corporation (TTC).

Gavin Tollman was born in South Africa during October 1963. He left his home country in order to travel to the USA, where he studied finance at The American University.

His first major professional role was in 1987 when he began working at the Buckhead Hotel Management Company, where he went on to become the executive vice president.

He then went on to become President of Trafalgar Tours USA and while he was there the company became the biggest European tour operator and soon expanded into new areas, such as New Zealand, Asia and South America. However, despite changes and overall success Tollman was dedicated to keeping the Trafalgar Tours offering consistent in both quality and value.

In 2001 Gavin Tollman became the President of the North American division of The Travel Corporation, which meant he was in charge of all sales and marketing activities of all of the organization’s brands.

In 2003 he began to work as the global head of sales for Trafalgar Tours and played a key role in the internal restructuring of the company. Since 2010 he has been working as the CEO of Trafalgar Tours and in this role oversees all kinds of marketing activity, sales and product development.

Trafalgar is one of the most successful and popular guided tour operators in the world and offers tours to a range of destinations designed to suit people of all ages and tastes.

The most recent addition to the list of destinations promoted by Trafalgar Tours is China, which is on its way to becoming the world's second largest market for travel and tourism—the spot that is currently held by Japan. To meet the needs of China's outbound travel market, which is growing at 30% annually, Gavin Tollman is researching the market and preparing the most conclusive travel packages available that will satisfy the requirements of the Chinese traveler.

Gavin Tollman is passionate about continually enhancing the products and services that Trafalgar offers its customers. He is currently working on providing customers with an experience that they could not get elsewhere and wants Trafalgar to be seen as the only company providing firsthand, insider knowledge about destinations. A new program Tollman has devised called "At Leisure" aims to change the way people view guided tours and give customers more freedom and time in their chosen destinations.

In line with this passion, Gavin Tollman has set a goal which he constantly strives to reach – to maintain the position of Trafalgar as one of the leading tour companies. To this end he has developed a new line of products, known as “The Insider”, according to which he plans to position the company’s 2012 product range. The unique tours in this line aim Trafalgar’s customers with touring experiences that they would have difficulty discovering independently. Among these new offerings are product enhancements such as "Be my Guest" – a concept that takes tourist to unique, or family run, eating establishments, where they are guests of the owners.

Gavin Tollman is also currently chairman of The Travel Corporation S.A. the parent company of Trafalgar Tours. In this role he identifies new business potential as well as leads the company’s web presence and operations in the southern hemisphere.

The Travel Corporation held its 2010 International Sales Conference in Cape Town, South Africa last year where more than 350 of the world’s tourism leaders came together for a business conference. It was there that TTC announced a strategic alliance with South African Tourism (SAT) aimed at marketing, promoting and developing Destination South Africa.

There were also a number of initiatives happening at the time of the conference in order to help the people of South Africa. At one event, employees of The Travel Corporation worked together to build more than twenty small “Wendy House” structures for disadvantaged families that live around Cape Town.
